A pledge is a commitment from a patron to donate a total amount over time. Unlike a one-time or recurring donation, a pledge tracks the full commitment and allows payments to be made toward that amount over a defined schedule.

Pledges help organizations:

• Track expected future donations
  
• Monitor fulfillment progress
  
• Manage donor commitments over time
  

• Total Pledged Amount – The full amount the patron intends to give
  
• Fulfilled Amount – The total of payments received toward the pledge
  
• Outstanding Amount – Remaining balance
  
• Schedule – Expected timing of payments (if defined)
  
• Status – Current state of the pledge (Active, Completed, etc.)
  

1. Navigate to Setup > Donations > Donation Types
   
2. Enable Pledge on the list
   
3. Click Save
