This help doc explains how to enable Ticket User Info so patrons can add guest names to tickets before or after purchase, and how staff can manage or edit those names within the VBO Box Office.
What is Ticket User Info?
Ticket User Info allows patrons to assign names to individual tickets in an order. This is useful when a purchaser is buying tickets for guests and wants each ticket to display the correct attendee name.
When enabled:
- Patrons can add guest names to tickets before or after checkout
- Guest names will appear on the tickets
- Patrons can optionally send tickets directly to guests
- Box office staff can edit ticket names within VBO
Depending on your settings, guest information can be collected either before or after payment.
Enabling Ticket User Info
To enable Ticket User Info for an event:
From the Manage Evens menu list click the select action menu on the event and select Event Info
- Click ADD-ONS

Enable Ticket User Info and set to pre or post payment

Click Save

Pre-Payment
- Guest information is required before checkout can be completed
- Patrons must enter attendee names during the checkout process

Post-Payment
- Guest information is optional
- Patrons can enter attendee names after completing their purchase

Disabling Ticket User Info for Specific Ticket Types
You can disable Ticket User Info for individual ticket types even if it is enabled for the overall event.
To disable it for a specific ticket:
Navigate to the Tickets tab for the event
Edit the desired ticket type
Locate the Custom User Info field
Select Disabled
Save the ticket
When disabled, patrons will not see the option to add guest information for that ticket type.

Editing Ticket User Info in the Box Office
Box office staff can update or correct ticket user information directly within VBO when needed.
This allows staff to:
- Correct misspelled names
- Update attendee information
- Assign tickets to different guests
Any changes made will update the name displayed on the ticket.
How to edit the Ticket User Info:
- Locate the order from the orders menu
- Click to expand the order
- Click the edit pencil next to the ticket
- Update the Ticket User Info
- Press Save or Save + Close

Ticket User Info Can Be Viewed On:
- Tickets
- Will Call Report / Guest List
- User Info Report (Reports > Event Reports > User Info Report
- Custom sales report (enable the Name On Ticket / Gift Listing Name output)
- Custom patron report (enable the Ticket User Info output)
