A Package Deal in VBO bundles specific tickets or items into a single purchase option. Packages are created at the event level and allow patrons to purchase all included items together rather than selecting each item individually.
Before You Begin
Create the items you want to include before setting up the package. You can select existing general admission tickets, multi-pass tickets, assigned-seating price groups on a seat map, and active merchandise. Donations must already be enabled on the account to include a donation.
You need access to manage events and tickets. Packages do not require a separate feature to be enabled. Package controls are unavailable on tour-template events. A package cannot include itself, another package, or a timed-entry ticket.
Setting Up a Package Deal
1. Navigate to Events > Manage Events.
2. Locate the event, open the Select Action menu, and select Tickets.
3. From the event’s Tickets page, click ADD TICKETS.
4. Click GENERAL to create the ticket that will become your package. You can also start with a MULTI-PASS ticket.
5. Enter the following information:
- Ticket Name: Enter the name of the Package Deal.
- List Price: Enter the package price. This price is used when Use Pkg Price is selected.
- Available Qty: Enter the number of packages available for purchase.
Set the ticket’s sales dates and display options for the channels where you want to sell the package.
6. Click ADD + CLOSE.
7. Select the ticket you just created to edit it.
8. Click MORE OPTIONS.
9. Enable Is Package Deal, then click MANAGE. The ticket type is set to Full Price and locked.
Adding Items to the Package
Use the Event dropdown to filter for a specific event, or click an event title to expand its ticket details. All Events, when available, lets you select items from this account’s other upcoming events. For accounts with more than 100 upcoming event dates, choose one event at a time.

Select the tickets you want to include by choosing an amount from the quantity dropdown next to each ticket type. Assigned seating is selected by price group; buyers choose their specific seats later.
Quantities apply to each package. For example, if you include two admission tickets and one merchandise item, a buyer purchasing three packages receives six admission tickets and three merchandise items.
Quantity changes save immediately. Setting an item’s quantity back to 0 removes it from the package.
To include merchandise, expand the Merchandise section and select the applicable items and quantities.
To include a donation for online checkout, enable Donation, select a campaign, and choose the donation amount. This option appears only when donations are enabled for your account.
When you have finished adding items, click BACK to return to the ticket’s advanced options.
Multi-pass note: Multi-pass tickets can be selected in Manage Package, and their remaining inventory limits package availability. Do not rely on this selection to issue a separate multi-pass ticket on the order. Preview and test the intended package before offering it to patrons.
Package Settings
The Package Deal section displays the number of included ticket types. Next to Pricing, choose one of the following options:
- Use Pkg Price: Uses the amount entered in the Package Deal ticket’s List Price field. The package price is charged once per package; included items are not charged again.
- Use Item Price: Uses the individual prices of the included items and ignores the Package Deal ticket’s List Price.
Next to Sorting, choose Top or Bottom to display packages above or below the main ticket listings. This setting applies to all packages on the event, not just the package you are editing.
Click SAVE + CLOSE when you are finished.
Package Deals display the Pkg- prefix before the ticket name in Manage Tickets.
Package Availability
The package’s Available Qty is not the only limit. Sales also depend on the remaining inventory of every included item. The first included item to run out limits how many packages can be sold.
For example, a package that includes two admission tickets can sell no more than five packages when only ten of those tickets remain, even if the package’s own Available Qty is higher.
If an included item has no remaining quantity, Manage Tickets warns: One or more of your package items has no available quantity. Review the included items and their inventory before putting the package on sale.
What Patrons See Online
Use Preview from Manage Tickets to check the offer before sharing it with patrons. Packages appear above or below the regular ticket list based on Sorting.
Patrons select a package quantity and click Order Now. Included general admission tickets and merchandise are added automatically; patrons do not select each included item separately.
Packages with assigned seats
After adding a package that includes assigned seating, patrons are prompted to select the required number of seats from the included price group. Specific seats are not assigned automatically. Checkout cannot be completed until all required package seats have been selected.

If the package includes seats for more than one event date, complete each required seat-selection step. If included merchandise has options such as size or color, checkout may also ask the patron to choose those options before payment.
Removing a package from the cart removes its included items with it. Included items cannot be removed individually.
Selling a Package in the Box Office
Select the package and quantity in the Box Office. If assigned seats are included, complete the seat-map step for all required seats before taking payment. Payment cannot be completed while package seats are still owed.
For a package requiring assigned seats, use the full seat map.
Changing or Removing a Package
To change the included items, edit the package ticket, open MORE OPTIONS > MANAGE, and adjust the quantities. Set a quantity to 0 to remove that item, then use BACK and save the ticket’s advanced settings when finished.
After a package has been saved, Is Package Deal stays locked on. To remove the package configuration, open Manage Package and click RESET. Reset removes all included items and turns off Is Package Deal. Use it only when you want to clear the whole package configuration.
