Overview

The Pick-A-Show Subscription allows customers to choose a minimum number of events from a designated season or series in order to unlock a percentage discount. Patrons select their shows, dates, and tickets all at once, with savings automatically applied at checkout.

This subscription type encourages higher upfront ticket sales while offering customers flexibility in building their own custom season lineup.

Step 1: Create a Subscription Season

  1. Navigate to Setup > Subscriptions > Seasons
  2. Click Add Season
  3. Name your season
  4. Set start and end date for the season (defines the subscription season timeframe)
  5. Click ADD SEASON
Note: You can also copy a previous season by clicking the manage gear on the season and choosing copy season from the drop down. You'll be prompted to enter a new season name and date range and choose the subscriptions that you want to copy over.

Step 2: Create the Subscription

  1. Navigate to Setup > Subscriptions > Subscriptions
  2. Click ADD (top right of page)
  3. Select Pick-A-Show from the Subscription Type dropdown
  4. Complete the basic setup fields:
    • Is Active = Enables the subscription for purchase
    • Is Online = Makes the subscription available online (uncheck for box office only)
    • Group Name = Used to organize subscriptions into groups
    • Subscription Name = Unique name for the subscription
    • Sales Date Range = Defines when the subscription can be purchased
    • Event Date Range = Defines eligible events based on performance dates
    • Sorting (optional) = Custom numeric sorting; alphabetical by default
  5. Click ADD

Step 3: Customize the Subscription

After clicking ADD, continue configuring:

  • Waive Fees = The tickets will inherit the service fees that are applied to your individual tickets. Check this box to waive these fees for the subscriber.
  • Season = The season the subscription is assigned to.
  • Pricing (optional) = Restrict eligible tickets by price For example, you can exclude tickets that are over $100 because they are considered Premium.
  • Min Events = Minimum number of events required for the discount
  • Max Events - Maximum number of events the customer can select
  • Discount = The percentage discount applied once the minimum is met
  • Show Selection = Select which events can be chosen for this subscription
Remember to click SAVE or SAVE+CLOSE

Note: You can come back and make adjustments at any time by navigating to Setup > Subscriptions > Subscriptions and clicking on the subscription name.

Step 4: Additional Features (More Menu)

Access advanced options from the MORE menu in the bottom-right corner of the subscription setup screen:

Free Bonus Events = Offer additional tickets and events for free with the subscription. The patron will have the option to choose their free events / tickets within the pick-a-show purchase flow. The following settings will display if this option is enabled.
  • No of Events = How many free events can be selected
  • No of Tickets = How many tickets per bonus event (Set to "Automatic" to match the lowest number of tickets purchased for any event)
  • Show Selection = Choose which events can be bonus events
Addtl. Discounts Tickets = Enable special discounts for additional single ticket purchases outside the subscription throughout the season.

Tax Rate = Use default tax rate from global settings, waive tax or set a custom tax rate.

GL Account = Assign general ledger accounting data for tracking purposes.

Important Notes

- Tickets must be online in order to sell this package. Tickets cannot have a public on sale date in the future. If the pick a show subscription is supposed to be sold before a public on sale date, sell this subscription through the box office or make the tickets onsale online and put the events in private mode until finished selling the subscription pre-sale.  

- Discount codes are not supported on the pick a show subscription.
