Use the Custom Patron Report to identify first-time buyers for a selected event date. The report adds a Yes/No indicator for each patron account returned.
What “first-time buyer” means
Yes means the patron account has no earlier order with your organization before its first order for the selected event. A purchase for any earlier event makes the account No, even if this is the patron’s first time attending the selected event. The check uses the account’s purchase history, not the report’s transaction date range. Run the report for one event date at a time.
Build the report
- Go to Reports > Custom Patron Reports and select Add Report.
- Under Select Output Columns, turn on the fields you want in the results. Turn on 1st Contact to include the patron name. You can also select Email Address, Phone, or other useful fields.
- Under Set Filter Options, turn off the Events toggle. The event controls will appear. Leave Event Filter selected.
- Select the event, then choose a specific event date in the second dropdown. Select a single performance rather than Include All.
- Turn on Show First Time Buyer.
- Enter a report name and select Save + Run. Select Save if you want to save the setup and run it later.

Read the results
